Out of Character Rules and Regulations
Summary
  • Be polite and respectful to your guild mates and fellow dwellers of Azeroth, regardless of the situation.
  • Please notify an officer of leaves of absence. 30 days of consecutive offline time will result in conclusion of membership.
  • Absolutely all concerns are to be brought up with a ranking individual. Public flaming of ANY player or guild, in the right or in the wrong, will not be tolerated.
  • Disciplinary conversations will be handled privately. Recurring issues will typically result in removal.
  • Keep In-character interactions separate from Out-of Character interactions. Do not be offended by what happens to your character by another player ICly.
  • See this thread for a list of required and recommended addons.
Membership
  • Members of the Tribe must be 18 years of age or older (USA legal age). If you are under the legal age of 18, you must have two members already in the guild or other respected GMs/Officers of the community to vouch OOCly for your maturity and conduct.
Conduct
  • Please treat your guild mates and fellow players with respect. How you act on an OOC basis directly affects how yourself and the tribe are perceived, therefore it is expected that you remain collected even in the most stressful of situations. Whether you’ve lost three battlegrounds in a row, wiped for an hour on a boss, or a nearby roleplay encounter is rubbing your nerves raw, there is definitely no acceptable reason to be rude to a fellow player, especially a guild mate.
  • Do not trash-talk other guilds or players within the guild chat, the Discord, or any other guild sanctioned chat. If you see such going on, take initiative and ask for the conversation to be changed.
  • Separation of IC and OOC situations is expected at all times. This means that genuine, In Character encounters should never be taken personally, and Out of Character conditions should not be involved within anybody’s story. In short, IC occurrences should be met with IC reactions, and don’t metagame.
  • Guild chat is OOC, and should be kept to PG-13.
  • There is an additional Guild chat (Feathers) that is used for RP of the IC interactions through the enchanted feathers given upon joining the Tribe (Tribemates and up). Please be sure to add this channel to be visible in your chat windows.
  • The guild Discord Server is used to coordinate and discuss RP and other things OOCly. Message an officer for an invite link. Guests and friends of the Tribe may join on a case-by-case basis. See the discord channel #rules and the forum here for more information.
  • A semi-strict non-trolling policy is implemented for the sake of publicity and politeness. Trolling on any public chats such as /2 Trade and /4 LookingForGroup should be kept to a minimum, if done at all. If a member is caught trolling, harassing, and otherwise ruining the gameplay of others, discipline will be enacted. This also includes trolling on other public Discord servers.
Attendance:
  • Being a roleplay guild, character activity is encouraged and appreciated. Ultimately, your real life is more important. Missing events due to sudden schedule changes, stress, or otherwise will never be held against you. Participation should be a choice and never an obligation.
  • Any members inactive for 30 days or more will be removed from the guild roster and their Discord role changed to Guest. Any member removed for inactivity can contact an officer to regain entry into the guild. If you are going to be inactive for a while, please inform an officer, leave a note on the website, or email Taeana at her email: Taeana.Palehorn@gmail.com If done so, a note will be be added and you can remain in the Tribe through your absence and Discord role will be changed to Honorary
  • Regardless of reasons, any player absent from the guild for over six (6) months will be removed to keep the roster as up to date as possible. If a player returns after being removed, they may be treated as a new incoming player and subject to re-application, IC interview, etc. If the player remains active in Discord, they my stay as a Guest or Honorary (whichever they were prior). If a player becomes inactive in the Discord for over six (6) months, they will be removed from the Discord server.
Concerns
  • All issues are to be handled privately, without exception. Regardless of the circumstance, public altercations with guildmates is not allowed. If you can’t resolve the situation in whispers, bring it up with a ranking officer. Confide in your officers with your concerns-- that’s what they’re there for!
Discipline
  • OOC Disciplinary actions will never result in a member losing SWBs or ranks (except discipline against an officer). Repercussions for an infraction will vary based on the player, severity, and circumstance. If the issue persists and the member refuses to correct their behavior, they will be removed from the guild and the Discord.
  • A member under disciplinary action should not speak of the matter to other members in guild chat or in whispers until the matter is resolved.
  • All disciplinary discussions, actions and situations will be handled privately by the officers and the player receiving action against them. If the member wishes to call witnesses, the witnesses shall be contacted by the officer(s) handling the discipline. The member will never be publicly outed, and all decisions may be petitioned for review. This pertains only to OOC disciplinary actions.

In Character Rules and Regulations
Characters
  • There are no OOC characters in the Tribe, this includes no alts of IC characters. Players may have alts in in the Tribe, however, they must be RP characters and have RP reasons for being in the Tribe.
  • Names must follow lore. It is acceptable to have a non-roleplaying name as your characters name, as long as your RP addon shows your IC name. You can find a list of these addons here. Remember that on a RP realm it is against the ToS to not have a roleplay based name. See RP Resources for ideas if you need them..
  • All officers are IC high ranking members and should be recognized as such by all characters in the Tribe. There are no OOC ranks within the guild.
Behavior
  • Proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation is expected at all times when in Roleplay (with the exception of accents). Typos happen, but try your best to keep them to a minimum and correct with X*)) when needed for clarification.
  • When in roleplay, keep all OOC chatter to a minimum and use (( )) or something similar to indicate you are Out of Character, or speak in gchat, whispers, or other channels.
  • You are encouraged to act In Character and react to others ICly, positive or negative. Remember that IC actions should not affect OOC. IC conflict is okay, and encouraged to an extent, but should have a purpose in furthering a character’s development.
  • We are a mature guild. Mature situations between characters are acceptable. However, such situations must be made consensual OOC beforehand to those involved, and taken to private chat (whispers/party) if beyond PG-13 content.
  • All members regardless of rank can create and host guild events. Large-scale or tribe-wide events should be scheduled as far in advance as possible and at least two days prior on the in-game calendar. Officer approval is required on large events hosted by Tenderhooves and Tribemates/Oathsworn. Officers will make their best efforts to attend events and give SWB as appropriate.
Other
  • The empty tent on the rise in the south part of the village ( @50, 65 ) does not ICly belong to any one character, in the Tribe or out. It can be used for RP on a first-come-first RP basis. You can use it as your RP home, but if anyone else is already RPing there, you have no call to ask them to leave.

All rules and regulations are subject to change as the Tribe grows. These changes will be announced at least a week beforehand, and logs of the changes will be kept.

Change Log: September 9th

Changed: Several wordings for clarification and/or simplification.

Removed: "There is a limit to how many characters you can hold in the guild. Since we are currently allowing a small handful of Orcs and Trolls, if you already have a Tauren in the guild, you cannot have an Orc or Troll brought into the guild. This takes away from someone who maybe really wants to be in the guild, but doesn’t have a Tauren. If you have an Orc or a Troll in the guild, you cannot have a Tauren. The reason for this is that we want to have active membership, and every character that is in the guild is a member ICly."

Removed in relation to OOC alts: "Guild membership is required, as we are still very small and need all our numbers to be IC. As we grow this may be subject to change, but we’d like to be as Roleplay Oriented as we possibly can. Some exceptions to this rule may apply."

Changed: Replaced Paukala's name and email with Taeana's for contact

Changed: Seer (old rank title) to Sage (new rank title) where it had not been changed appropriately.

Added: "The alt/ally channel is Stonewind. You may join this channel by typing /join Stonewind in the chat window. All members are encouraged to join this chat, as well as alts of guild members and friends and allies of the guild may talk on this channel."

Changed and Added: "Being a roleplay guild, character activity is encouraged ultimately, your real life is more important than everything on this page. Missing events due to sudden schedule changes, stress or otherwise, will never be held against you. Participation should be a choice and never an obligation."

Removed: “This doesn’t mean hopping online for 10 minutes or an hour and then logging off, this means actively seeking RP with others, doing old world dungeons and raids with guild mates, recruiting, helping guild mates with things, and other ways. Active will be defined as a) on for 5(five) hours in a week, interacting ICly and/or OOCly with other guild members, b) attending and participating in 2(two) scheduled events, or c) attending 1(one) event plus 2(hours) of other interactions. This is included as an aspect of guild event attendance, as you can attend the required amounts of events for the rank you want to ascend, but if you’ve only done events there’s a lower likelihood that you’ll be able to ascend until you do some other things with the Tribe, both IC and OOCly.”

Removed: "with only a minor ding to what has already been earned."

Added: "All members regardless of rank can create and host guild events. Events should be scheduled as far in advance as possible and at least two days prior. Officers will make their best efforts to attend events and give SWB as appropriate."

Removed: "All members are required to attend events they have signed up for in a timely manner when online, and no late policy will be implemented for offline to online. Events will be scheduled at least 1-2(one to two) weeks in advance. If there is a scheduling problem with another guild or event, please inform an officer at least half a day in advance. RL problems happen, this is OK. There is no penalty for missing an event, just remember event attendance does count towards you IC activity for ascending in ranks.”

Removed: "All discipline is on a case-by-case basis. Trolling, harassing, and otherwise interrupting other roleplays and events will not be tolerated. This will be treated as a heavy offense and may have the player booted from the guild, no questions asked. There is an availability to petition to return, but there must be a unanimous agreement from the high ranking members of the guild such as the Elders, Sages, and Chieftain.”

Removed: "IC is IC. Things said ICly should not be taken OOCly in any form. This limits the drama within the Tribes OOC communications. If you are not sure if the person is acting IC or OOC, ask them.”

Removed: " are to be listened to ICly and OOCly at all times. Insubordination will not be tolerated and will be handled promptly ICly.. If your character has a problem with authority figures, they probably shouldn’t be in a guild that has high ranking members that they will always pick fights with.”

Removed: "If you have to, talk in /p (party), /r (raid) or /g (guild). Whispers are a preferred form of communication when you are talking in a small group, however if in a big group please use one of the above mentioned forms of communication. If none of these options are available, and you have to speak in /s (say) please use brackets all the way around, or at the end of your sentence. Examples of this are: “((sorry, I meant _____ ))” or “sorry, I meant _____ )) “.”
